Finding The Balance: The heart of GGG

Grace, Grit & Gratitude founder Ange Noy became a personal trainer after making big lifestyle changes to help combat her symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). She came to love the gym environment and spent all her time there training, working with clients and hanging out in group fitness classes. However, towards the end of her 20’s this ‘healthy’ lifestyle was leaving her feeling burned out.

This is where yoga came into play, and she began the journey of her yoga teacher’s training. The emphasis on stretching, mindfulness and meditation helped to counter her stress levels and she left every yoga session feeling amazing, so began to introduce these principles into her existing training methods.

Now as a mum to two young girls, Ange’s own focus is no longer about getting abs, lifting heavy or losing weight fast; her goals and priorities have shifted. She wants to feel more energetic, to relieve stress, to have time to herself and to feel healthier. Energy is precious when you’re only getting 4-5 hours of sleep or less a night for months on end after having a baby!

Her first pregnancy left her with sacroliac joint instability after attending a yoga class which led her to discover that many mainstream yoga instruction cues aren’t as gentle as we would believe and can actually put us at risk of injury.

Additionally, her second pregnancy was high risk and left her on modified bed rest for almost 5 months, she took this opportunity to do a nutrition coaching qualification and began putting it all together for her clients.

These experiences as a new mum changed her mindset around how she trained people, and her new goal became all about getting people active in ANY capacity and putting greater emphasis on self-care, nourishment and honouring your body’s energy levels and capabilities especially around injuries and postnatal rehabilitation.

'I was the first tester for the Grace, Grit & Gratitude programming, developing it before I fell pregnant with my first child and continuing to use it throughout my pregnancy and then postpartum.

After almost five months on medical bed rest for a high risk pregnancy with my second baby, I used these workouts again to get back into my routine so I know how hard it can be starting from scratch! For lifestyle changes to be effective for busy women, exercise should be fun, food should be nourishing and delicious, rest is important and so is your happiness.

What We're All About

After watching the documentary Embrace, Ange wanted to take a more body positive stance towards health and fitness - this is why we prefer not to overly promote weight loss and diet culture.

Instead, we've chosen to encourage you to learn how to listen to your body's cues again. How does the workout make you feel? Do you have the energy to do an intense workout or would some stretches serve you better? Does your food leave you feeling light and energetic or lethargic? Do you feel rested after sleeping at night?

When you start to look at your fitness, nutrition and wellbeing in this way, you will start to feel better and your body will attempt to find it's own way back to a sense of balance - this is about deeper health.

This isn't about fast fixes, fads and short term results; because who wants to be struggling with a diet forever or so exhausted from over-training that you can't enjoy your down time? The reason many people fail at their health and wellness goals is because they attempt to change too many things too quickly or what they're doing is just too hard.

Ready To Find Your Balance?

Grace, Grit & Gratitude is about developing quality health habits that are sustainable in the long term while fostering happiness, courage, determination and appreciation for what you CAN do rather than what you can't.

We will help you learn and maintain healthier habits. These changes may seem small and simple, but over time these modifications can add up to big, sustainable results. We'll teach you how to do this using our five step pathway:

GRACE - To offer yourself the permission to be imperfect while nourishing your body with quality food and regular movement so you can feel healthier and journey through life with greater ease.

GRIT - To continually build on developing resilience and determination. To evolve and grow stronger, to take on challenges.

GRATITUDE - To see the value in everything that we are, all that we have - including acknowledging and working with our body's capabilities, and the everyday wins (no matter how small) that we achieve towards our goals.
